The Random Wrestling Review and its sister shows bring you an explicit mess of in-depth wrestling analysis and puerile humour. The main show focuses on a single event from any point in history and breaks it down crudely and with no apologies. RWR Now focusses on events currently taking place in wrestling. The Game is a quiz series featuring regular guests on the panel battling out to show their supremacy over one another. BracketMania sees the crew whittle 16 down to 1 in pursuit of finding the best of any given category and there a number of bonus and special episodes about a plethora of other things. We have covered topics and shows dating from 1984 through to the present day from a variety of promotions including WWE, WCW, AEW, ECW, NWA, NXT and AWA, so there is bound to be something you like when you join Tinky, Old Man, Tom, Stephen, Matt, Alex and other guests as they fumble their way through wrestling’s rich past, present and even future. Listeners beware! This show is not suitable for young ears!

Back in 1999 the wrestling business was booming big time and in an attempt to cash in on the success being enjoyed by WWE, WCW and ECW, a new promotion formed that would feature the wrestling stars of yesteryear, and put them on pay-per-view. What followed was one of the most infamous events in history, culminating in a main event featuring Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Yokozuna against Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart and King Kong Bundy.

WWE Crown Jewel 2018

Sunday Jan 05, 2025
Since 2018 WWE have been taking their Premium Live Events to Saudi Arabia twice a year and raking in major money for doing so. Way back when the deal was first done, many criticised the company's decision to do so, some of its talent refused to go and perform and others were unable to on safety grounds, but the shows went ahead nonetheless. All this brings us to our review of a night that will go down in infamy- due to the World Cup tournament that dominated the undercard of the show, and the once in a lifetime battle between D-Generation X and The Brothers of Destruction which saw Shawn Michaels come out of retirement for his first match in 8 and a half years...

RWR Now: The Quick Review of 2024
Sunday Dec 29, 2024
Sunday Dec 29, 2024
Another year is in the books and 2024 may have been the biggest yet as the business end of pro wrestling shifted massively over the last 12 months- from WWE's merger with UFC and the creation of TKO, The Rock joining the TKO board and the announcement of the Netflix deal to AEW securing major talents from New Japan, beefing up their own roster while leaving New Japan with large gaps to fill, and their own work to secure a TV deal that should keep them going for at least the medium term, its' been massive, and that's without even discussing what happened in the ring! Also, with the end of the WWE Network, what does that mean for the archive content that was previously available, and perhaps most specifically, how will it affect this very podcast...

WWE Royal Rumble 2000

Sunday Dec 22, 2024
For this year's Christmas episode of the Random Wrestling Review the team are going back to the turn of the Millennium, and the first WWE pay-per-view of the 21st century, as they presented the Royal Rumble. It was a night that featured the debut of Tazz in WWE, The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz squaring off in a celebrated tag team tables match, the ultra-violent WWE Title match street fight between Triple H and Cactus Jack, as well as the Rumble itself of course, but even then may still be best remembered by some, for the controversial Miss Rumble Swimsuit contest. It's time for us to give it the RWR treatment...

WWE No Way Out of Texas: In Your House
Sunday Nov 24, 2024
Sunday Nov 24, 2024
In February of 1998, WWE were on the road to WrestleMania XIV, arguably one of the most important wrestling shows in the company's history. That month they were presenting No Way Out of Texas: In Your House, to be headlined by an 8-man tag match featuring 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie versus D-Generation X with one drawback- one of their biggest stars, and WWE Champion at the time, Shawn Michaels, was unavailable, owing to the back injury he'd suffered at that year's Royal Rumble (and would keep him out of action after WrestleMania for years). Who WWE would book to replace Shawn Michaels in the match was a major talking point going in...and coming out of the event. Also on the show, Kane continued his path to a first-time confrontation with his brother The Undertaker, in a bout with Vader and The Nation of Domination had what was termed a 'War of Attrition' match with Ken Shamrock, Ahmed Johnson and the DOA.

RWR Now: The Kevin Owens' Piledriver (and what it says about WWE in 2024)
Sunday Nov 17, 2024
Sunday Nov 17, 2024
On the latest RWR Now, we sit down to discuss the recent angle on Smackdown where Kevin Owens used a piledriver on Randy Orton during a brawl, which was sold by all concerned as an unspeakable act of brutality. What did our panel make of the angle? What does it say for the direction of WWE? Was it believable in a world where other promotions are having wrestlers do similar moves on a nightly basis? Or conversely, is their a concern that Owens' using a piledriver makes it more likely for dangerous things to take place on WWE TV in the future?
